The millionaire came home early and found his daughter barefoot beside the mansion.
Lily was holding her crying baby brother, and both children were covered in dust.
Behind them, the abandoned doghouse stood open.
Inside were Noah’s blanket and Lily’s missing shoe.
Their stepmother insisted the children had been playing.
But Lily looked at her father and whispered:
“Vanessa locked us in there.”
Vanessa was confident Adrian could never prove it.
She had disabled the backyard camera and deleted every recording before he arrived.
What she didn’t know was that the security system maintained an encrypted off-site backup.
Adrian opened the restored archive on his phone.
Dozens of files appeared.
